I hope that you, my representatives, would look into this statute and have changes made so that either the dealerships must sell cars that meet the local ordinances or that there is at least some Public Service Announcements which give warnings to unsuspecting drivers of pre-owned (or new) cars so they aren’t blind-sided on the highways Window tint near me and streets by patrols looking for low-hanging candidates for such unfair traffic citations.
I have been a resident of Hampton since June 2014. Being an elderly person of 64 plus years, my normal radius of driving is usually no further north than the Langley Air Base Hospital; no further south than Fort Monroe Beach; and no further west than Aberdeen Avenue. My routines have me home before 4pm daily. I would classify myself as a low-potential, public nuisance or danger with those tinted windows.
I hope you are able to assist owners of cars with tinted windows sold to them by the dealerships on an 'as-is' basis with no warnings about the possible statutory jeopardy they might face with their tinted windows.
